A Noteworthy Accomplishment

One of my new scrapbooking goals is to use up my scraps instead of filing them away. I have a bad habit of filing them away and then forgetting about them. I still end up filing scraps away because I’ll have another project that I have to work on, but I’m trying!

This Noteworthy kit was so pretty that I couldn’t file away, so I whipped this layout out just today! I really had no intentions of scrapbooking but got inspired this morning! I took the other half of the Artisan die cut paper and the flocked alphabet stickers along with some cardstock, pattern paper, and ribbon I already had, and before I knew it, it was done. It all came together so quickly I think I surprised myself! So, don’t file away your scraps of your next project and whip out another layout! It’s like getting two for one!

If you look closely, you’ll see that I used all my t’s in “The Cutest Graduate” layout, so I had to make a “t” out of an “f” in the word “favorite.” So, don’t be discouraged if one letter you need is missing.

I also completed an additional layout with my Noteworthy scraps. I did not finish my journaling but still wanted to share my layout.

Let's go fly a kite!

At our last scrapbooking workshop, I used some leftover patterned paper and chipboard from the Promenade kit along with some embellishments from the Two Scoops kit and came up with this quick and simple layout. I’m proud to say I used every bit of my Promenade paper! Put your scrap paper into another layout today!

Mommy & Me Scrapbooking

We are so excited about this kit. How many times have your children asked if they can scrapbook with you? Now they can. You and your child will create 12 flashcards to celebrate the important things happening in your child’s life. Each flashcard, approximately 4.75×4.75 inches in size, represents one month. Each month, you and your child will put a picture on the flashcard and add a few embellishments. Your child will able to do his or her own journaling on the back. If your child is too young to write, you can do the journaling. This is a fun and easy project that will last throughout the year.

Here is what is included in the kit

Here is a sample of the front of the flashcard

Here is a sample of the back of the flashcard

The cost for this kit is $10.00. Any additional kits cost $7.50. If you would like to purchase these kits, please send an email to rosebuds.pdx@gmail.com.

Happy 2008!

2008 – a new year, new resolutions, new ideas and new journeys. And of course, a new scrapbooking album to start. Amidst all the new resolutions, are you still looking for a way to get caught up on scrapbooking years past? If so, I have a idea to help you be more efficient in 2008.

If you’re like me, you are working on scrapbooking photos from one or two years in the past. My strategy for this is to find similar photos and events from previous years and scrapbook them simultaneously. For example, right now I am working on scrapbooking Christmas photos from 2006 and 2007. All the paper and embellishments are already out so it is easier to find and coordinate everything I need for multiple layouts. You will complete several layouts and feel caught up all at the same time!

One more bonus tip for 2008. If you haven’t started one already, start a scrapbooking journal. My journal inspires the journaling I do on each layout when capturing memories from the more distant past. I keep mine as a Word document on the computer but you can easily keep a journal in your purse or diaper bag. I usually write in my journal every few days to document things that are going on in our life—big events like the first day of school, birthdays and holidays are always documented but so are random little things that I do not want to forget.

If you have ideas that help you get caught up, send us an email and we will share the best ones. This is the year to get caught up.

All the best for 2008! Here is to a great new year of scrapbooking.
